Christmas market #2!
my market table at the Clyro School Festive Event
Just a bit before the Winter Weekend Festival market, a friend asked if I would be interested in having a table at their school festive event in the nearby town, Clyro. I was excited to try it, though not quite sure as I hadn’t done my first one before I agreed. After Saturday though, I was ready for this Thursday evening! And I was thrilled that it was indoors and to have everything already for the event!
Baskerville Hall in Clyro
This festive evening was held in Baskerville Hall in Clyro. (Yes, it just might be THAT Baskerville Hall of Sherlock Holmes’ literary fame. Possibly.) We had not been to Baskerville Hall yet, though you can see it from various points around Hay. Clyro is a walkable town just over the Hay bridge. Clyro is most famous for its English clergyman Francis Kilvert who lived and wrote there and often walked the short way to Hay-on-Wye. It is a lovely walk from Hay to Clyro, with gorgeous views of the mountains. I was rushing to get there and set up on time so this photo late in the evening rush to see Father Christmas was all that I got. I was at my table the rest of the evening.
my table at the Friends of Clyro School Festive event
The atmosphere was a bit less cheery in the hall, but I was very grateful to be indoors and quite warm. A bit too warm perhaps, but a good contrast to the Saturday market. The table was wonky, so it wouldn’t hold my Christmas wreath; but I’m still mostly happy with how the table turned out. I had significantly less cards to sell, but the evening was still quite successful and enjoyable! It’s good to know I can handle markets now and then. 💚
